The ideal candidate doesn’t shy away from hard, repetitive, physical work and enjoy being in the elements all day.

As our Labourer(s) you will be responsible for:

  • Industry or trade experience is not required, we will train
  • Comfortable with physical work and working with hand tools as needed
  • Trenching and running cable
  • Erecting and assembling steel ground mount racking and panels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, measuring accordingly
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in physically challenging conditions


  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract is an asset
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required prior to employment
  • Must be able to take direction and work well in a team environment
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Must have MSA approved steel toed boots and hard hat

Crisis Intervention Worker

Two (2) casual/relief Crisis Intervention Worker positions are available for one year, (term position). Hours will vary from 8 to more hours per week, mostly weekends with possible shift coverage during the week: Overnight, day and evening shifts.

Education: Preferred - Diploma in the Human Services field or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work but will consider experience/equivalencies.

Experience: Two years (Negotiable)

Skills/Abilities: Ability to communicate in written and oral form, critical thinking and decision making, interviewing and assessment skills, knowledge of family violence and related issues, and knowledge of community resources.


  • RCMP Criminal Record Check
  • Alberta Child and Family Check
  • Valid Suicide Intervention certificate
  • Valid First Aid – Level C

Summary of Position: The appointee must develop a supportive relationship with adult and child clients of the Shelter, selectively and systematically applying helping skills within a crisis intervention and domestic violence framework. In addition, responsibilities include household maintenance activities, working as a team member with other staff members and volunteers, and participating in staff development activities, including staff meetings.

Furthermore, the appointee must have a keen sense of self-awareness, be motivated to develop professional skills, and understand professional boundaries.
